Recently I have started visiting many of the local Connecticut vineyards. I have always enjoyed a great bottle of red wine. This also gives me a great opportunity at seeing other areas of the state.

My favorite vineyard is located in Wallingford. It is Gouveia. It has a beautiful setting ontop of a hill and has both indoor and outdoor seating. Their wine tasting offers five different wines that vary from a dry white to a sweeter rosé. The scenery in the fall is absolutely stunning. A great spot to sit outside on a crisp fall night, with a great bottle of wine and a basket of food and admire the foliage. http://www.gouveiavineyards.com/visit-us.html

  1. Have you tried Arrigoni Winery in Portland, CT? There's a great picnic area to sit and hang while you enjoy some interesting wines. I'm definitely going to check out these vineyards you mentioned. They look great!

    1. I have been to that one. Some of the wines are interesting as you said, but I do love the little area they have. The country store is also really cute.

  2. Gouveia is one of my favorites also. We have actually had birthday parties there and family gatherings because all you have to do is bring the food and they provide the delicious wine!

  8. I love the photos, especially this one. I've never done wine tasting. I've always tended to stray away from it without knowing much about it, but I think I'm going to do it now, and take a day for myself while I'm at it.
