Jonathan Edwards Winery

Jonathan Edwards Vineyard and Winery

Jonathan Edwards is another great vineyard to visit. It is also great for another day trip. It is located in the Southeast part of the state in North Stonington. It is a scenic drive and worth the trip. I have been there for several weddings and have always had an amazing time. The wines are good and the staff is very knowledgable. Here you are welcome to bring your own picnic basket with food. They are also known for hosting two festivals every year. A spring and winter festival. You can purchase tickets both in advance and at the door. If the weather is great, it is worth the drive down there to spend the day, enjoy their wines and the live music as well as various vendors.

Take a nice day trip!

Take a Beautiful Day Trip

Chamard Vineyard and Winery

Enjoy beautiful scenery and amazing bottles of wine. Chamard Vineyards is located in Clinton. A great day trip to make with friends or a significant other. You can also go to the outlets which are close by. Chamard is known for it's beautiful scenery and rustic barn at their location. They have live music in the barn on the weekends. They are also one of the only wineries in Connecticut that have a full service restaurant. You will not be disappointed with a great bottle of wine and farm to table, fresh cuisine.

If you would like to dine in the restaurant make sure to make reservations. You can do so at opentable.com. There is limited seating of only 35 people. The restaurant is a bit pricey but worth the money!

Recently I have started visiting many of the local Connecticut vineyards. I have always enjoyed a great bottle of red wine. This also gives me a great opportunity at seeing other areas of the state.

My favorite vineyard is located in Wallingford. It is Gouveia. It has a beautiful setting ontop of a hill and has both indoor and outdoor seating. Their wine tasting offers five different wines that vary from a dry white to a sweeter rosé. The scenery in the fall is absolutely stunning. A great spot to sit outside on a crisp fall night, with a great bottle of wine and a basket of food and admire the foliage. http://www.gouveiavineyards.com/visit-us.html
